tmua.io

Every TMUA paper, in one place — free practice for the Test of Mathematics for University Admission

tmua.io collects every free TMUA practice paper — 73 community mock papers with 1,100 questions from 30 named contributors, plus every published official past paper and MAT Section A — and lets you sit any of them in a 1:1 replica of the Pearson VUE screen the real exam uses. Everything is marked automatically, scores convert to the official 1–9 scale, and all of it is free.

The community paper library

The number of official TMUA past papers is small and runs out quickly, so tutors, teachers and students write their own mocks. We gathered them from Drive links, forum threads and tutor sites into one library of free TMUA practice papers, credited each paper to whoever wrote it, transcribed the questions, and made every one sittable and self-marking. Students rate each paper for quality and difficulty, so you can sort for the hardest mocks or the closest to the real standard.

The exam simulator

Since 2024 the TMUA is sat on screen at Pearson VUE test centres. The tmua.io simulator replicates that interface — the same timer, flagging, navigator and review screens — so exam day feels like practice. Sit full official sittings (TMUA 2016–2023, MAT Section A 1996–2025), any community paper, or a custom session built from the 1,770-question bank by topic, length and pace.

Common questions

Is everything written for the new TMUA?

Yes. The TMUA changed in 2024, moving from Cambridge Assessment to UAT-UK, and is now sat on screen at Pearson VUE test centres. The simulator matches the current on-screen format, and the practice we point you at is for the current specification, not the older Cambridge-era papers.

Is tmua.io really free?

Yes. The whole community library, the official past papers and the exam simulator are free. You sign in with Google so your progress and results follow you between devices, but there is nothing to pay and no card to enter.

Where do the community papers come from?

They are free TMUA mocks published by 30 tutors, students and teaching sites. We have collected 73 papers and 1,100 questions so far, kept each one credited to whoever wrote it, and made all of them sittable in the simulator with automatic marking. 3 of the papers reached us with no author on them at all; those are filed as unattributed rather than credited to anyone. If you wrote any of these papers and would like it credited differently or taken down, email us and we will action it.

How close is the simulator to the real exam?

It is a screen-for-screen rebuild of the PearsonVUE testing interface: the same header and timer, the same flag-for-review control, the same navigator table, and the same end-of-exam flow. Students tell us the real sitting feels familiar because they have already spent hours in it.

Do questions come with solutions?

Every question on the platform has a complete worked solution that shows the method, not just the answer.

Which universities use the TMUA?

Cambridge, LSE, and Imperial require the TMUA for certain courses (mainly economics and maths-related degrees), and universities including Warwick, Durham, and Bath use or encourage it. Requirements change from year to year, so check each course page for the current cycle.

When should I start preparing?

Most students give themselves 8–12 weeks before the October sitting, but the platform is built to make shorter sprints count too: topic filtering and accuracy data show you exactly where to spend limited time.
