Every TMUA paper, in one place — free practice for the Test of Mathematics for University Admission

tmua.io collects every free TMUA practice paper — 54 community mock papers transcribed question by question, 1,080 of them, plus 18 more linked to their authors' own PDFs, from 29 named contributors — alongside every published official past paper and MAT Section A — and lets you sit any of them in a TMUA-style online practice interface designed to familiarise you with timed, on-screen practice. Everything is marked automatically, scores convert to the official 1–9 scale, and all of it is free.

The community paper library

The number of official TMUA past papers is small and runs out quickly, so tutors, teachers and students write their own mocks. We gathered them from Drive links, forum threads and tutor sites into one library of free TMUA practice papers, credited each paper to whoever wrote it, transcribed the questions, and made every one sittable and self-marking. Students rate each paper for quality and difficulty, so you can sort for the hardest mocks or the closest to the real standard.

The practice interface

Since 2024 the TMUA is sat on screen at a test centre. The tmua.io practice interface is TMUA-style and built for timed, on-screen practice, with a timer, flagging, navigator and review, so exam day feels familiar. Sit full official sittings (TMUA 2016–2023, MAT Section A 1996–2023), any community paper, or a custom session built from the 1,709-question bank by topic, length and pace.

Common questions

Is tmua.io really free?

Yes. The community library, the official past papers and the practice interface are all free. You sign in with Google to sit papers and keep your results, and there is nothing to pay and no card to enter.

Where do the community papers come from?

They are free TMUA mocks written and published by 29 tutors, students and teaching sites, and submitted to the site by their authors or by students. There are 72 papers and 1,080 questions, each credited to its author and sittable in the simulator with automatic marking. 3 of the papers were submitted with no author named; those are listed as unattributed rather than credited to anyone. If you wrote one and would like it credited differently or taken down, email us and it will be done.

What is the practice interface like?

A TMUA-style online practice interface designed to familiarise you with timed, on-screen practice. It has a timer, a flag-for-review control, a question navigator and an end-of-exam review, so by the day none of it is new. It is an independent study aid, not the examination delivery system.

Do questions come with solutions?

Most do. Official questions come with the board's own worked answers, and about 740 questions on the site have a full worked solution of their own. You can limit a practice session or a mock to those.

Which universities use the TMUA?

Cambridge, LSE, and Imperial require the TMUA for certain courses (mainly economics and maths-related degrees), and universities including Warwick, Durham, and Bath use or encourage it. Requirements change from year to year, so check each course page for the current cycle.

When should I start preparing?

Most students give themselves 8–12 weeks before the October sitting, but the platform is built to make shorter sprints count too: topic filtering and accuracy data show you exactly where to spend limited time.
